Lara Menezes is a model and actress from Mexico. Born in Mazatlan, Lara’s early life was full of promise as she appeared in many different television programs, one of which was “The New Mickey Mouse” where she played the role of the beloved character. However, it was not until her mid-twenties that her career really began to prosper as her love for modeling and acting brought her to Hollywood where she became known for her roles in “Lawrence of Arabia” as Queen Isabella and in “A Few Good Men” as Attorney Aaron Lane. It was in this time that her marriage to Carlos Smirazan came to pass and the two remained together for the next thirty years. Over the course of her marriage, the couple had six children and their union did not come without marital problems.

At the time, Lara’s citizenship was Spanish but she claimed her American nationality so that her status as a legal citizen of Mexico would not be affected should she ever choose to live and work in the United States. However, when Lara and Smirazan finally divorced in 1980, it was not through divorce court but by an amicable settlement. There were no legal issues as they were no longer legally wed, but their careers had come to a close and in order for them to remarry. As it was clear to both of them that the marriage was coming to an end, so they decided to go their separate ways. This was to open up a can of worms for any prospective employer or friend who might wish to hire either of the former wives as they both had claimed to be of Mexican descent.

This problem was however easily sorted out as Lara Menezes passed all of the necessary tests to prove her identity to be a Mexican National. At the age of seventy, having successfully completed her formal education, she applied for and was granted citizenship of the Republic of Mexico. Her application was approved and although the paperwork took some time to be processed, it was eventually completed in March of this year and her paperwork was then sent to her new home in the United States.
