Fernanda Ramos – Female Leadership in the Philippines

Fernanda Ramos is a rising star in the National Congress, Philippines’ women’s brigade. She is also a member of the Quebizhangladuan, the only women’s political party in the country. Through her work as a congresswoman and an advisor to the first lady, she has been able to secure her place as a respected leader of women in Philippine politics. Fernanda grew up in Manila, where she earned a degree in economics before entering the political arena.

Fernanda became one of the first Filipino women to join the presidential bid of Benigno Aquino in Makati. As a congresswoman, her focus has been on national economic development. As a member of the Quebizhanguan, Fernanda has also fought for the cause of indigenous tribes and other people who are fighting for their rights in the country. As a congresswoman, she has achieved notable heights in her profession and it was her leadership in the Filipino community that allowed her to be given the post of first lady in the country.

Fernanda has held several Cabinet positions in the government, including the secretary of the Department of Budget and Management Services (DOB) and director of the Department of the Interior and Natural Resources (DIN). Despite her early career in public service, her most notable achievements have been in the realm of economics. Fernanda is currently the Executive Vice- chairman of the board of advisers of Dornado Casualty, which is one of the largest travel insurance companies in the Philippines. She is expected to hold the same position in the Philippine Development Bank (PDB), which she used to be a board member of.
