Ashley Madekwe is an actress from England, who has also gained fame outside England by her various appearances on television and in movies. She has been known for her notable roles in films as a daughter in the British film The Bodyguard (2021) and as a dancer in the movie Kung Mangarap Ka’s The Robot (2021). She also appeared in action films such as Kill Bill (whichever the title) as dancer Celia Colledge, in the television movie Code Number Five as Sarah Hartley and as a major character in the book and sequel to Harry Potter as Hermione Granger. Her other notable film roles include Bridesmaids (also cited as Alexa Bradley in some sources), in the TV show Housefull, in the movie Kung Fu Panda and as the main character in the movie Olympus Has Never Been Wild.
Ashley Madekwe was born in Ghana but was raised in England. Her parents were teachers and she claims to have been always interested in acting. She went to the University of Birmingham where she studied drama, but did not enjoy her degree there as it did not involve acting. After that she worked in various places as a showman, street seller and secretary before settling in TV where she appeared in a few TV shows including ER. After that she appeared in a few films including a bit part in Love Actually as a French maid.
After doing a bit part in a popular show called Strictly Come Back Together she decided to concentrate on acting and work up to more substantial roles. She went on to act in films such as Batman Begins, Hugo and Bruce Almighty and The Chronicles of Narnia. Apart, from her TV appearances Ashley has also shown up in a few movies and has been in a bit part in a popular British TV series as Vicky Pattinson in Therazure alongside Stephen Boyd. It is clear that she has enjoyed a good length of time acting and should be back in demand in the near future.
