Alice Lawrance is one of those very few people who achieved two very important jobs in one career and both of them at the same time. She was a consultant for several different law firms and worked as an official translator for the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She also served as an official translator for the Department of Justice. In all those positions, she held the dual position of being a specialist in her area of expertise as a legal secretary while keeping her professional background as an engineer and a writer.
Alice Lawrance married Jack Whelan and they had four children. The couple divorced in 1980 and Alice then married Bernard Lewis, a U.S. taxpayer and stockbroker. Alice’s path to a highly successful legal career started at the Radiation Drug Refrigerator Plant where she met her future husband and it led her to a career as a nuclear physicist.
Alice Lawrance is still practicing her profession as an engineer today, although she lives in England. Although she has reached a majority of her retirement age, she maintains a strong interest in her Nationality. According to reports in the Washington Post Article by Alice Lawrance, she “still carries the flag” and will be eternally grateful to those that have supported her throughout her Nationality.
