A Mumbai-based dermatologist, Zoie Bachik has come in the limelight after her appearance on India’s popular talk show, ‘condolence’. The dermatologist was recently found flaunting her height, which may have been slightly less than the desired level. Bachik’s sudden about-face and public confession of being over-weight may have been because of the pressure that her weight brought with it. In fact, her marriage to another man, brought the marriage to a halt before the wedding and she seemed to have finally realised that she would need to drop a few pounds. Bachik maintained that she was simply doing what she needed to do to maintain her health, even if it meant that her looks were a little droopy and her heart rate a little high as well.
Bachik’s sudden height increase may also have been triggered by the fame that followed her on-air admission. She appeared on various news shows and candid portals in an effort to regain the lost height, and with a fair degree of success. While some sources suggested that this was simply a ploy to boost her sales, others opine that Bachik has always been open about her profession and had nothing whatsoever to be ashamed about. If she was trying to look like a supermodel to make a quick sales pitch, it would have backfired, as her presence will be that much more endearing to people who are not as confident with their height as she is. It is difficult to see how a height increase can lead to a stable, loving relationship, but it does point to the importance of looking after yourself when you reach a certain age in your life.
Some may argue that being over-weight is inevitable and that there is no way of changing one’s appearance. They might be right, but it does not mean that you have to let go of the love of your life and throw away your love for your career. There are plenty of reasons why you may need to step up your career, and your attitude towards it may have changed. Whether it is your partner pointing it out, or your parents asking why you have not pulled your weight in the past, you need to get serious about taking your height increase seriously, especially if your partner complains about it.
