The World Down Syndrome Day, also called the World Federation of Down Syndrome Organizations Day, is celebrated each year on the first Sunday of May. World Down Syndrome Day commemorates the day that Thomas Coleman, a young man with Down Syndrome, was left alone and allowed to wander around a large park by his parents. His parents took him in because they did not believe that he would be able to survive on his own. As it turns out, Thomas was very lucky, and his story has become inspiring to people all over the world.
