Why do fashion trends change? Trends are changes in dress style, color, fabric, cut, etc., brought about by cultural and cosmetic influences and expectations. Generally, fashion trends usually last approximately one year, although occasionally, certain trends, typically the acceptable, lasts much longer. The reason why the trend changes may be as simple as changes in the popularity of a specific style or item of clothing, or it may be because of the way it is advertised or marketed.

One of the most common reasons why fashion changes is because of the way people dress. Clothing styles reflect the society in which they live. The clothes we wear also have social meaning. Clothing forms an important part of our everyday lives. Most people depend on clothes for their daily fashion statement; this is where fast fashion comes in.

Fast fashion is basically high end, unisex clothing that is designed to be worn quickly and which may be worn almost anywhere. For instance, a garment like designer jeans which is considered to be in the “in” fashion today, can be worn almost anywhere in the world. Although it has become popular for teenagers to wear these kinds of clothes, they are more popular with the older generations. In addition to designer jeans, other types of fashions include: baggy jeans (which are very fashionable and used by both men and women); sportswear, especially the kind popular among the youth; loose T-shirts and tank tops; and even fancy costumes like wigs and makeup.
