Francisca Imboden, nicknamed “anesco” by her fans, is a famous South American actress known for her beauty and ethnic features. She rose to fame in the eighties when her role in the movie “La Vida” (also produced by Fox Searchlight), made her name famous throughout the continent. She is also well known for her roles in other popular films such as “Amores Perros” and “Mujer”, as well as for her long time relationship with the late Hugo Chorrillo.

Imboden was born in Pitampanga, immediately following the death of her parents at the age of eighteen. The family had been Immigrants from Oviraci, Chile, and she would later claim that her birth town was where she “met” Chorrillo. She met him through her agent, Andrades Montoya, and the two quickly became lovers, which would eventually culminate in their marriage.

There are many theories about what happened leading up to their eventual union, with some believing that her birth date and birthday were using to distance them, while others believe that they were simply not happy with their chosen careers, and that of all the people Hugo Chorrillo should have chosen, Francisca certainly did not deserve to lose her job, and so ended their marriage. One of the most important facts about Francisca Imboden’s career is that she managed to maintain an active social life, even while her acting career was taking off, and even attended the University of Chile after graduating in 1960. By this time, she was well known for her beauty, intelligence, and sense of fashion, all of which added greatly to her popularity. It is rumoured that she once considered having an abortion but decided against it, and instead chose to keep her body and mind healthy by practicing yoga, swimming regularly, and eating healthily. Despite being a very accomplished and attractive woman, it must be said that Francisca Imboden still felt like a little girl when she accepted the offer of a Hollywood contract and spent several months recording several films, before landing a role in one of the biggest films of the decade, The Deerhunter. Although her contract was short-lived, and later expired, she did manage to keep acting, and in later years continued to work until her death from a stroke, at the age of 64.
