The Autumn 2021 fashion trends should have a little of the “EDG” to them for those of us with a more classic style sense. This year there will be many new designers making a name for themselves doing what they do best and having a bit of fun. It is also worth remembering that many of these fashion designers have a penchant for using the more eccentric designs which are often better suited for more traditional pieces of clothing.
What do we think will be the biggest trend for the autumn/winter seasons? There is no doubting that one of the biggest is the return of the knitwear. Knitwear has always been popular but it is finally returning to a fashion mainstream in the UK after many years of being relegated to the section. There are some great new ranges of knitted jumpers, coats and cardigans coming out all offering a chic and stylish alternative to the mass produced knitwear of old. These range from the classic cardigan in black or white, to tartan cardigans and coat sets. There are many different colours and patterns to choose from meaning every woman can find something special to wear.
Another great autumn/winter collection is the re-branding of menswear. Many brands have brought back their classic styles and been modernised. This year we have seen British brand Burberry release an autumn/winter range complete with military style trench coats. We also saw fashion heavyweights Like Mike and Banksy team up to create the London based brand Blokes. This brand offers menswear inspired by street culture, creating a unique capsule of urban fashion that will go down well amongst the fashionable elite. This autumn and winter will no doubt continue to cause a surge of interest as designers get back in the game and try and inject some much needed interest into the design world.
