Yasmin Vargas is an entrepreneur who also dabbles in her writing. She started as a secretary, but her articles were more interested in business and leadership. In 2021, she co-founded a company that creates customized T-Shirts for small businesses, called Nasty Products. The name of the company is derived from a line of clothing used by the late Princess Diana, with the slogan “T-shirts are for girls”. Now, Vargas sells to all age groups and has expanded her business to include fashion design, as well.

What makes Yasmin Vargas’ rise to the top of the niche world of immigration and citizenship seems to be the fact that she is the quintessential example of a successful woman who has transcended gender and nationality barriers to reach her ultimate goal. Although Vargas is originally from Mexico, she now lives in New York. She is described as a very successful business woman, by giving interviews about the challenges and rewards of being a dual citizenship (American/Mexican) professional. In one of these talks, she talks about how important it was for her to become a U.S. citizen because her status required that she disclose her Mexican roots, so she could remain legally free to visit Mexico and her three kids there.

As an entrepreneur, she says that she enjoys the freedom of working on her own terms. She describes herself as a very ambitious young professional who pursued her entrepreneurial dream while balancing being a mother and a professional. Her views on how being a dual citizenship makes her life better are similar to those of many highly successful women. However, it is interesting to note that many of the top businesswomen in the world today are dual citizens or have lived overseas for many years, yet retained their U.S. citizenship.
