The 1959 fashion show launched the careers of numerous celebrities from all walks of life. These included John Lennon and Richard Nixon. Most of them were fashion conscious and wore clothes that were influenced by the new fashion. As a result, they were considered to be some of the trendiest people in their era. The 1960’s fashion design movement, which included the classic cuts and designs by John Lennon and commonly known as the “Lennon look”, inspired many other people including a young Michael Jackson who was inspired by his then wardrobe.

These new styles gave way to a new generation of fashion-conscious young people who were more interested in having a glamorous lifestyle and wearing the latest fashions. However, these fashion trends also brought about changes in the clothing industry as well as the whole economy. Because there was less disposable income, many companies closed down and most companies of the large clothing companies were forced to downsize. This resulted in less demand for the newer styles of clothing. As a result, most of the popular styles such as the 1960’s Peter pan collar, pencil thin and pencil tucked shirts became out of vogue and faded away into the past.

However, the fashion industry has never lost its passion for innovation and many designers have tried to incorporate new styles and concepts into the clothing worn by men. This is why, today, we can still see some of these vintage styles being worn at formal events like weddings or proms. These modern fashionable clothing are not only appealing but also very comfortable to wear.
