What Age is Right For a Lawyer?

Luisa Schuler is the manager of a large international law firm and an entrepreneur. She is also a professor of organizational behavior at the College of Business and holds an endowed chair in the department of government at the University of San Francisco. But what is important to understand is that her views and opinions are her own and not reflective of the views of the American Bar Association or any other organization.

Luisa’s opinions are her own and are not intended to be or should be construed to be any sort of criticism of age discrimination, or any other type of discriminatory actions or treatment based on age, nationality, or sex. However, Professor Schuler does talk about age as being an issue in the workplace, and she even discusses the effects of age on the business world. Specifically, she notes the effect that age can have on performance, and she points out that some lawyers do not appear youthful enough and are less productive than others. This is an interesting observation considering the fact that some lawyers have actually been able to turn themselves into “suited” attorneys by attending college for just a short period of time so it may be possible that age could indeed be a factor that affects performance negatively.

In addition to her studies of business and law, Schuler has also written several articles on a variety of topics including the relationship between marriage and career, the value of marriage, and how children fare when married. These articles are often interesting and will stimulate the reader. In addition to her academic work, Schuler is also well known for her many television appearances that include The Biggest Loser, Pennywise, and Psych. For someone who is interested in a stable, long-term marriage, Schuler’s writing will be very helpful.
