Ever since I started wet wading, I’ve had a problem with my feet! My toes always hurt, even if I’m wearing shoes. They’re small, delicate, and start bleeding quickly. In addition, when it gets really cold, I start to get sores and blisters on my feet. Recently, I tried some new products from Simms and they turned out to be excellent!
Wet wader socks and angler boots work great together to keep your feet comfortable and dry while still going fishing. The socks absorb the water before it gets into the boots and then the waterproof liner holds it all day. For me, I use a simple pair of Simms Neoprene wet wading socks and an Angelina brand angler’s boot with a built-in zipper closure to make sure my feet stay dry throughout the entire day. I have worn a couple of these boots to outback Australia and my feet did not dry out nearly as much as they do in my Simms wader socks.
My favorite thing about the Wet Wading Socks and Angler Boots combo is the ease at which they put on and take off. I just tuck the wet wading sock under my fishing vest and pull the socks over my boots. I’m amazed at how fast I can get my feet wet without having to get completely wet. The wader sock also keeps water from getting into the boots as fast as the wet wade sock does which is nice because sometimes the boots get wet faster than the socks. I love my Simms socks for the winter and now I’m trying them out for the fall season.
