Luisa Accorsi is not a new face in the Bollywood nor a new name to those who only know her through her leading role in Rajneeti. This actress first came to our notice in the mid 1980’s when she was cast in a film called Lahaan, which depicts the life of a camel trader in the Rajasthan region of India. It was in the movie that we first see Accorsi, and though the film failed to do well commercially, it did provide the actress with the experience and recognition that would help launch her career. Over the years, Luisa has gone on to play a lead role in a number of high profile films including the remake of Rajneeti, Mumbai, Aaqward, and Neelkanth, as well as being a guest star in some notable movies of Indian cinema such as Mona Lisa.

While there is no denying that Accorsi is undeniably tall, one might wonder if her height is a result of her nationality or her profession. After all, it is not uncommon to see an Italian played by someone of European descent, and while there is nothing wrong with Italian actors being known as tall, it is not exactly known why this is the case. There is a possibility that the question of whether or not Accorsi is an Italian by birth is irrelevant because according to both her passport application and profile from thectors’ trade association, Accorsi is neither an Italian nor a Rajastan woman.

The possible reason behind Accorsi’s seemingly unusual height is due to her role as Nana Dicken, a Jewish girl who is married off during the course of the movie. Dicken is shown as being unusually tall for her age, and while the precise reason for this height difference is not made clear throughout the film, some have deduced that her height may come from her ethnicity. In the Hindi language, the word Nana is using to denote age, and while some have speculated that Dicken and Nana were lovers, others believe that it refers to the Jewish marriage that was common at the time. This would make Dicken as an example of the typical height difference between Eastern and Western cultures. Whatever the reason, it can be safely said that the mystery of the “tallest woman in the World” will continue to grow.
