Trapper Hat in Modern Fashion

The trapper hat was an absolute survival tool in the Native American Indian tribes. This hat was worn by the women and children, as well as the men for warmth in the winter. The fur of this hat is quite thick and heavy and is ideal for trapping wildlife in the wild. A shank, which is also known as an ushika-hat, is a Russian fur hat with large ear covering flaps which can be either tied around the head, or held tightly in the hair to protect the cheeks, jaw, and neck from the biting cold in the winter. Both the males and the females of the species can wear these hats.

A trapper hat is designed to protect us from the harsh environment of nature, and has an eye catching design, perfect for trapping wildlife. These hats are made from animal fur, such as the lamb’s wool, and are usually brightly coloured to distinguish them from other caps. The fleece of the hat is actually a soft type of fabric similar to cashmere and it traps body heat and can keep the wearer warm even in the coldest of weather. Although this type of hat is not widely used nowadays, it is still used among some Native American Indian tribes. A modern version of this hat is made of polyester and can be found in the form of a beanie.

This type of hat is definitely one of the most versatile types of hats on the market today. It is not only stylish but also practical. One of the latest fashion statements is the use of this hat in the music industry. Several artists are seen sporting this hat, and in some instances, these hats are even sold in record stores.
