Dressage, also called equestrian horse riding, has been around for many years, and as dressage has developed into a popular sport over the years, dressage fashion trends have evolved as well. It’s obvious that dressage is a time consuming, physically and mentally taxing sport, so it only makes sense that there are dressage fashion trends that one can follow. For example, as the sport has developed into a more glamorous pastime, dressage riding apparel has become more fashionable. When we take the equestrian industry into consideration, the horse riding industry employs over 25,000 people worldwide and consists of dressage, jumping, show jumping, dressage trail riding, jumpers, and more. The clothing that these people wear all depends on the dressage competition level, and even though dressage isn’t often thought of as trendy, it’s definitely growing in popularity.

While dressage clothing isn’t always made from traditional materials and styles, it’s growing into something a little more stylish. Most dressage clothing is made out of lightweight, breathable materials that allow the horse to breathe while allowing the rider a comfortable, relaxed feeling. One of the most popular types of dressage dress is the flatlock tights, which are made out of spandex with elastic bands under the legs to create a snug fit that allows a gentle movement. Some riders prefer a loose, flowing garment that flows as if it’s on the body instead of being constricting. A new trend is dressage coats, which can come in almost any design. While there aren’t many women dressed as horsewomen who don’t want to look like they’re riding a horse, men do dress their horses for dressage and it’s becoming increasingly popular for men to purchase and wear dressage clothing.

Dressing the horse has always been a part of the sport, but dressage fashion trends have certainly evolved as the sport has developed into a much higher level. The popularity of dressage as a sport is likely to continue, as it gains further recognition as an elite sport. Dressage isn’t just about dressage, however. While it’s possible to dress a horse just as well with regular pants, you’ll find that the style of dressing the horse that suits your style is very important to you.
