Let’s face it; the 1990s were not the best decade for fashion. Sure, there were many iconic designers that made history, but the bottom line is that fashions just didn’t hold up through the recession and the long ugly wardrobe death of grunge. The 90s were notorious for a lack of style, a focus on dull colors, and short, terrible styles. People everywhere were wearing the same old fashions year after year; it was obvious that something had to change. Here is a look at some of the most memorable ‘1990s fashion Trends That Never Should Come Back in Fashion Again.

High-low styling was all the rage in the mid to late 1990s. People loved to dress in two piece bathing suits with an ultra low waistline, and nothing looked worse than a two-piece bathing suit and high-heeled stilettos. This decade also saw the first ever “boyfriend” fashion trend, as people would dress up for formal events in comfortable pants, leather jackets, and sneakers. This was truly the decade of Seamless Leather, and it would be the beginning of a wave of similar looking fashions. Although this trend has slowed down somewhat, it should always be remembered as one of, if not the hottest fashion trend of the decade.

While pants were once a unisex item, in the mid to late 90s, they became more niche-specific. People would wear flannel, flocked pants, and cargo pants, and these fashions became a staple wardrobe staple. No longer associated with being boring and basic, or just plain uncomfortable, people began to wear these styles of clothing and accessories in much larger sizes. Today, a large majority of American women are fashions that can be seen at any major Fashion Industry event.
