Ingrid Silva has been a National Association of Martial Arts Fitness (NMAF) competitor since 1988, competing locally and internationally. Ingrid is also a national judge for the Brazilian National Soccer Team. She began her dancing career at age seven, when she was hired by dancer Dennis Hopper to perform in his circus act, The Ring. After three years as an on stage dancer she decided to try her hand at tumbling.

Height and the number of inches you have to grow to be considered a tall woman are not things that society or family expect from an ordinary-looking woman. Ingrid is the product of an unusual combination of genes, her height being the result of long bones from her maternal side and short stature from her father’s side. Height and what you grow to be is often determined at birth through the sex chromosomes which determine your physical sex, and Ingrid is the product of a rather unusual combination of chromosomes. Height and how much you grow to be is also determined by your genetic code, but Ingrid is unique because her exact genetic code has never been determined.

Height and how much you grow to be is also determined by your profession and the relationships you have developed over the years. If you have had a difficult time growing and maintaining a healthy weight over the course of your life, this could affect the determination of your height. If you have had many partners in your life who have been either shorter or larger than you, it may have influenced your own perception of yourself. Regardless of your profession, if you are working with a height-discriminating man or a woman you can bet that he or she will continue to reject you based on your height.
