The Partner, a young Norwegian woman, has found herself caught up in an international affair that has brought her name and face into the public eye. Lisa Lindqvvst, who used the online dating service to look for a partner and has since married, stands accused of cheating on her husband with a fellow employee of the firm where she worked. Her defense lawyer is trying to paint her as a promiscuous woman, who simply used the internet to get involved in a relationship and never meant to end it.

Lindqvvst’s identity was first revealed when the husband of the previous wife, contacted the police in Norway to complain about his wife’s activities. They then searched the computer and discovered a list of email addresses, which matched the ones on the dating profiles. The next step was a DNA test which ruled out any nationalities, explaining the length of time she had been dating. Lindqvvst has strongly maintained her national identity, despite this revelation, and claims that she has always used her real name, and the names of her children. The prosecution is trying to use the emails and computer records to try and prove that she fraudulently posed as a male while dating the other woman.

Lindqvvst’s attorney has requested that the case be tried in a closed court, arguing that revealing the nationality of the couple would be detrimental to their chances of winning the case. Court documents show that the partner was born in Norway and that she had changed her name, along with her date of birth, on the dating profiles. In addition to this, the prosecution has pointed out that the length of the trial has been reduced due to the nationality of the defendant. The judge will decide in the near future if the trial should be held in a closed court.
