Giulia Monego is an Italian fashion designer who has been designing men’s and women’s clothing for over 30 years. Her name is synonymous with high style and luxury. Her designs often appear on the cover of several well-known fashion magazines such as Glamour, InStyle, Golf, L’officiel, Lucky, and others. Part of Giulia Monego’s appeal is her eye-catching clothing which often incorporate bold colours and elegant details. Part of her appeal is her nationality or ethnicity, as she has created clothes for people from all ages, including her very own tailored fit model that was recently showcased at a major British fashion show.

Giulia Monego has also designed clothing for other prestigious brands, including Dolce & Gabbana, D&G, DKNY, and Domenico Dolce and Gabrielli. Her Italian roots do definitely come through in her design work, as do her long experiences working with the Italian royal family. As a child she was often surrounded by her grandparents and other servants in the royal court. Giulia Monego attended Genoa University, where she studied painting, printmaking, and sculpture. After graduating she worked with the editorial staff of Corot magazine, later moving to Milan to become an illustrator and designer for numerous Italian publishing houses. Following her career in design, Giulia Monego worked as a translator for several well know publishing companies, before returning to Italy to set up her own consultancy.

Giulia Monego was born in Genoa, Italy and moved to Paris where she completed her studies. She is now based in Milan, where she lives with her partner and former partner David Barban. Barban is the same person that co-chairs the International Association of Fashion Designers/IAFD (International Academy of Fashion Design). Giulia Monego’s Italian origins and international presence have seen her sought after across Europe and the United States. She has received numerous awards and recognition including multiple gold medals at the Venice International Festival of Fashion. She currently runs her own consultancy in Milan, specializing in fashion information management and advising clients on matters regarding fashion and design.
