Maria Taktouk is a famous Egyptian actress and singer who has played a variety of characters, most notably that of a concierge in Hollywood. Born in Syria, Taktouk spent her early years in Egypt where her parents served as teachers. While studying in the United States, she was sought out by several well-known actors and actresses to star in their movies including: Debbiebies, Swing Vote with Edith Scovell, and The Perfect Score. However, her two most notable acting credits to date are that of Maria Bello in the TV series Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and as Thania Vail in the movie The Perfect Score.

Born in Greece, Taktouk is originally from Rhodes, which is on the Island of Samos. It is clear that her parents wanted her to become an actor so that they could both continue working, but when Maria was nine years old her parents changed their minds and made her return to Greece to live in Athens. For the duration of her childhood in Athens, Taktouk lived in squats, where she participated in social and political activities. When she was thirteen years old, a friend urged her to try out for a spot on the school football team, and the rest is history. At the age of sixteen, she was finally given a place on the Athens State University squad.

Maria Taktouk’s career spanned four decades, during which she won four Oscars for her roles in both The Perfect Score and The Age of Youth. She has since gone on to star in films such as A Few Good Men, and The Pursuit of Happyness, but in more recent years she has primarily focused her efforts on music. She has also released several solo singles, including some which have reached the top of the UK and US albums charts. Her songs have also appeared on many soundtracks, including those by the Backstreet Boys, Oli Sykes and The Oatmeal. Aside from her acting work, Taktouk is also popular as a stage actress, hosting her own talk show, as a writer, and as a producer.
