Deborah Agboola is a talented writer, presenter and speaker who has been able to combine her love of animals with her passion for speaking and sharing knowledge about them through various mediums. She has an MA in Communications and Marketing from the University of Manchester in England and is now based in New Zealand, where she enjoys pursuing both her writing and consulting jobs. As a speaker, she has appeared at events in the UK, Canada, Australia, United States and at Universities in the United Kingdom and the United States. Her speaking engagements include explaining the benefits of owning and breeding guinea pigs, as well as giving information on how to put together a successful business that includes breeding, selling and trading pet pigs.

Deborah Agboola first came to public attention when she was selected as one of the leaders of the BBC’s’Guinea Pigs’ project, hosted by Victoria Clark. She spoke about her nationality and her desire to be British before her acting stint. A year later she presented a series of programmes in America and in the UK about her experiences as a guinea pig. Following that she presented a Channel 4 documentary entitled “Species Identity”, which explored her passion for wildlife and her thoughts on conserving wildlife.

Following the completion of her two programmes, she decided to develop her own book – a collection of reflections on her adventures and travels, which focused on travelling and traveling as a career option. Her own book of this nature has now been released and is being marketed under the title ‘elligently unscathed’. Her own interest in guinea pigs and her desire to share this passion with people around the world has led to a career as a professional breeder and speaker. While she admitted that her passion had initially been sparked by a desire to be a guinea pig, she said that once she had become a breeder she realised that she really wanted to help people with their passion and make a difference in their lives. While her path to success has therefore taken her across many different disciplines and industries, she has remained true to her passion and has not allowed herself to be distracted or pushed into doing things that do not interest her.
