The Internationality of Antonella Betancourt

Antonella Betancourt was born in Genoa, Italy in 1920 and after the war became a British citizen. She married Gianfanco Palladino in 1947 and the family lived in Spain. In 1970 she moved to Paris where she worked as a model, but her career spanned just over a decade. She returned to England in the late eighties where she established herself as a stylist and design consultant and launched many fashion lines including: Armani, Dior and Calvin Klein.

She has maintained a very youthful appearance throughout her life despite her advancing years and throughout this time she has never seemed to lose her natural sense of beauty. Part of her charm is her trademark black hairdo and the gentle yet dignified manner in which she wears her hair. This is matched perfectly by her wide smile and luminous eyes, which make her look younger than her actual years. Her diction is clean and her speaking ability is articulate which makes her entertaining on TV and off.

Antonella Betancourt is not the first celebrity with a large portion of her nationality (Haitian) living abroad, but she is one of the more famous ones. Her image as a quintessential French woman is undoubtedly down to her ethnic background but the reality is that being a genuine international Frenchwoman has also made her a very famous personality on a global scale. I am certain that her great beauty and positive attitude are what attracts people to her and not her nationality or perhaps her international background. Her marriage to Palladino was brief and did not produce the children that some couples hope for when they marry.
