Ms Francesca Battistelli is a young fashion designer who has set up her own clothing lines; the name being ‘Partner’. She started her career at the age of twenty-one and has had many opportunities to further develop her career. Ms. Battistelli was born in Genoa, Italy, but is originally from Milan, where she gained a degree in economics. She is married and has four children.
In her early years at college, Ms. Battistelli began her designing career, before going on to set up her own design company in Zane, Italy. Her creations have been worn by celebrities including Angelina Jolie and Bianca Jagger; however it was her association with Italian glamour that really launched her career. Partner was set up as an independent venture and has seen sales increase dramatically; though, Ms. Battistelli is open to doing all kinds of marketing both online and offline. Her website states that she is ‘fully committed to marketing the company and to building a world-class image for the brand; she wants to be the face of luxury for allure and style lovers, women and men.’
It should be noted that in this day and age of globalisation, that many young people are moving abroad to find opportunities, with many having a dual nationality. It seems that in this case, Ms. Battistelli has achieved a success through her association with Italy’s L’Orient which has been selling her products in various countries, most notably China. In fact, her own range of Italian fashion dolls has even been sold in China. This is not the only successful and well-known Italian fashion designer who now has Chinese partners; Silvia Manobbia and Flavio Lessa are also partners in different companies, with Manobbia having a shop in Beijing and Flavio having a store in Milan.
