Eliana Ameh is a professionally known Egyptian actress and model from Dubai. Born in 1968, Eliana grew up in Kuwait as the second of four children of six in a conservative family. It was not until she went to school that she found her calling in the entertainment business. After high school, she went to study acting at Cairo University before going on to join the cast of” Pharaoh’s Voice”, an international television show. This experience then led her on a path that would see her become one of the biggest faces in Hollywood and paving the way for a career that would see her take part in some of the most renowned films of all time such as “Muzac”, “The Hours”, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and “A Beautiful Mind”.
But what has it taken for Eliana to move from being a well-known faces in Hollywood to a role in a film directed byico man, Steven Spielberg? She told the Daily Mail: “I started working when I was 18. I just didn’t have any ideas about this but since I was studying in London I did see an opportunity to go to Australia to study with director Steven Spielberg. I didn’t know anything about screenwriting so I joined his crew and I had to learn everything about the Australian TV industry. Once I got there I thought I could do anything. I think one of the main things that helped me was going to conventions and learning from other actors because they are the ones who will tell you what it’s like to be on set and how you can be a better actor.”
While this certainly is a successful story and one that deserves a place in the annals of film history, there will always be the question of what made Eliana so successful in Hollywood. One thing she has said is that once she accepted her role as Cleopatra in the movie version of “The Princess” she never lost interest in acting. Perhaps it was her status as a national treasure and her beauty that enticed the legendary director, or maybe it was her ability to perform on stage and talk convincingly about strong characters. No matter what it was, Eliana proved to be a force to be reckoned with in the industry.
