Ingrid Brown’s name is synonymous with some of the best names in corporate America. She has been named to the A.M. Best and Company lifetime ranking as one of the nation’s top-performing CEOs. However, if Ingrid Brown was not an American and a woman, you would never have guessed that she is a world-class educator and an inspiration to many. Born in Southern California, Ingrid studied at the University of San Francisco (California State University) where she earned a degree in political science.

Following her graduation, Ingrid decided to pursue a master’s degree in education, but instead enrolled in the Art Institutes for Fashion Management at the Saatchi Gallery in London, which was founded by the world-famous fashion designer John Galliano. She worked hard there and achieved a variety of managerial positions, including consulting positions for fashion houses. At the time, Galliano was working in the very prestigious John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. Her career spanned almost 20 years, which makes it easy to see how her experience would translate into her becoming a world-class educator and a partner in the fast-paced world of fashion. Ingrid Brown has now retired from her numerous positions, but her passion for teaching continues and now she finds her calling in the world of education.

Brown is well known for her books on art, culture and leadership. She is currently writing a book about the legal and criminal fields. Ingrid is an inspiration for today’s youth who may have given up on making it in today’s marketplace, but she reminds us that with a positive attitude and a dose of wisdom, life can be wonderful. If you are an American woman who wants a challenge and has a passion for learning and teaching, you can’t go wrong having a reading night with Ingrid Brown.
