Natasha Leggero was born and raised in Rockford, Illinois. She rose to worldwide popularity as the host of both the MTV reality show The 70s House and as a frequent panelist on Chelsea Lately, from 2021 to 2021. In her memoir I Love NY: A Memoir of Love, Leggero chronicles her remarkable life, including her rise to comedy superstardom, her time as a writer and performer, and how she reconciles her nationality, urban/hip hop, and Irish heritage with all of her American dream girl quirks.
One of the most interesting things about Natasha Leggero that sets her apart from other comedians is her incredible height. At 6′ 3″, Natascha has long been listed as one of the shortest comedy stars in Hollywood. Her very public and frequent bouts of being called “numb” by her cast mates and fellow comedy artists (most notably Roseanne Barr) led Leggero to believe that she must be doing something right. However, when I read interviews with Leggero, it seems as though she genuinely loves being tall. In one instance, Leggero describes her routine as going on “the stilts.”
After being told that she is “built like a stick,” Leggero says she wasn’t particularly offended. “I like it. Maybe people think I’m built like a stick, but it helps me get into character and really feel what the character is feeling. And sometimes that is hard to do if you’re not tall.” Natascha continues with a sense of humor – referencing an incident from her stand-up career where she said, “I’ve gotten many fart jokes because I have bad knees.”
