Luisa Crdenas was born in Southern Italy and as a child has always identified with her family. Her passion for her family grew as she attended college and law school in Turin. During this time, she was often drawn to the women of her family – particularly her younger half-sister, Fenice Dincotto who often posed for photos with Luisa during family vacations. This fascination by all women in Luisa’s immediate family would eventually turn into an admiration for women of all nationalities and heights.
As a young woman in the profession, Luisa identified with a rather stiff, cold and expressionless beauty, which was common amongst Italian lawyers during that time. When it came to romantic notions, Luisa was a very reserved type of woman who often presented herself as innocent – even shy and retiring. She was also known to be quite misunderstood and not always the kind of woman who would openly discuss intimate matters with her lovers. Nevertheless, despite her apparent demure nature, the woman had great charm in spite of her height and physical shortcomings – an unusual combination for a legal professional.
Luisa was also very ambitious in her career as a lawyer. One day, while discussing an important case with her mentor, Piero Piccinini, she blurted out, “I want to be promoted”. Piccinini, who was a much older man, looked her in the eye and replied, “Yes, but you’ll have to grow some more if you want to succeed at this”. The young woman left that meeting greatly disappointed, not only because she did not meet her promotion quota in her profession, but because she became convinced that men were incapable of growing emotionally or socially. After losing a promotion opportunity due to this thought, Luisa decided to dedicate herself to changing her image for the better.
