Marianna Lemos is a member of the International Association of Beauty Therapy and a personal training specialist. She holds a Master’s Degree in Counselor Education and Supervision, and is a certified counselor and therapy leader. Her specialty is the human touch, an area she has a great deal of experience in working with handicapped, elderly, and physically or developmentally disabled individuals. In her position as a physical therapist, she has worked with individuals ranging in age from one year to seventy years old. As a result, she has a strong understanding of the challenges each of these groups face, and how they can be best addressed through a full range of techniques, methods, and strategies.
At the age of seven, Marianna became the center of attraction for everyone at the school, even though she was often left out of the regular class activities. She was constantly the center of attention, with teachers and staff teasing her for her unusual height. At the age of eight, her teachers began taping her hands together to determine her nationality – if she was part Greek, then her hand patterns would be Greek. At the age of nine, Marianna had all of the “coming-out” rituals that girls her age undergo, which included wearing an apron, running through a parade with a large group of girls, and wearing a white gown that fit perfectly on her tiny frame. At the age of ten, Marianna was taping her nails but not really planning on having long nails at that point in her life. The nail polish did not last long, nor did the little bowles of the clippers.
At the age of thirteen, Marianna Lemos became a published poet with a strong interest in body image, fashion, and healthy eating. After being inspired by the life and death of her deceased mother, she created several poems about her life, which are now collected. In addition to being a published poet, Marianna Lemos is also a professional growth coach. She has used her writing to become an outreach speaker for teens and to help educate thousands of people about proper body image, nutrition, self-esteem, and body consciousness.
