The first witness was the grandfather who was driving the vehicle when he saw the man “dancing around” the car and then running away. The witness then noticed that the man was missing a shoe. When he went inside, the grandfather noticed that his grandson’s shoes had been soaked through, but no blood had been found, according to police.

The second witness said that a woman who worked at a nearby convenience store called to report seeing a man “dancing around” the vehicle and then running away. Once inside the motel, the witness saw the man in the backseat wearing the same attire as the first witness, police said.

Police found the man wearing dark clothing along with a green sweater, dark jeans and running shoes. The clothes and boot print matched to the shoes the grandfather saw near his car, police said.

The man was taken to the hospital for treatment of a minor leg injury.

It’s unclear how the man got the foot and shoe. Police said there were no signs of foul play.
