If you are a woman, you have definitely noticed that there are more of these stupid fashion trends being churned out in the media. No longer can you find anything that is considered sexy or even fashionable without its creator having to do some damage to our already fragile planet. In this world full of shrinking budgets, women have to look for new ways to put on makeup and add some flare to their outfits. One way that is becoming increasingly popular is by sporting a crazy, oversized and outrageously expensive hat that completely detracts from the rest of your outfit. Women are beginning to copy these fashion trends and make-up, and some are getting away with it. I think one of the biggest problems is because it is so over the top, women begin to feel like they are trying too hard.
The only thing that really bothers me about this type of fashion is the fact that women wear these hats just to look “cool”. And I’m not sure that wearing a big, glitzy hat gives you any other benefits other than making you stand out a little bit in a sea of sea cream. When I think of all of the toxins we are exposing ourselves to through pollution, it is no wonder why I think it is silly for people to put so much focus on these trends. It makes no logical sense at all.
We live in a world obsessed with beauty, whether it is a woman or a man. People want to be perceived as beautiful, desirable and above all, young. The only problem is that these beauty trends are taking a toll on our planet, our health and our wallets. Some of these fashion trends that are so popular are causing farmers to spend more money for less food, which leads to higher prices for consumers. We have been conditioned by media and marketers to think that the only way to get a piece of the fashion pie is to buy the latest, shiniest and brightest item that is in fashion today. This is only putting a bigger hole in our futures.
