Serving Nationality – Discretion and the Law

Deborah Maxx was born in New Hampshire in 1947 and is a native of Dover, New Hampshire. Her parents were Russian immigrants who became United States citizens in what is now Maine and then relocated to Ohio. It was there that her professional path would begin, working as an administrative assistant for the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol in Cleveland, Ohio before becoming a clerk with the U.S. House of Representatives. Her political career commenced at the dawn of the Watergate Affair in Washington, D.C. with hearings and leaks which embarrassed and ultimately brought down former President Richard Nixon. It was then that Maxx decided to seek greater heights in national and world politics, embarking on a long and fascinating career as both a prosecutor and a senator. She served for four terms as President Bill Clinton’s secretary of labor, a post which she retained after he left the White House to serve as a Supreme Court justice.

Now, in these latter years, she has retired to a small mountain town in New Hampshire where she lives with her son and daughter-in-law. Her website lists a fictitious character called Maxx Price as her nationality, and her official place of employment is listed as “chair of public policy for Hampshire Governor.” She has not yet run for any national office, nor has she been asked to resign or lose her position as a member of Congress due to whatever transgressions may have brought down Mr. Clinton. (It should be noted that Maxx Price is married to a U.S. citizen of Russian descent.)
