Gotsaul also suggests that companies should train their employees about the importance of protecting their social media profiles from unwanted contacts and messages, or at least creating clear guidelines on what members of the public may expect to see in their profile pages. The use of social media by the general public should always be accompanied by appropriate social media training for employees as well, in order to make sure that the right kind of information is being shared, with the right people in the right situations.
