Violeta Podrumedic is an artist from Podhya, Croatian Republic. She studied art, drawing and sculpture at university, she even studied ancient Greek as it pertains to writing and painting. She worked for three years in Milan, creating concept paintings and designing props for theatre productions. After that she traveled around Europe and settled down in her native Croatia, where she enjoys her work as an artist to this day. Her tattoos have been featured on the arm of actors, musicians, dancers, models and many more professional people.
When I first heard about Violeta Podrumedic I just laughed, thinking she was a child playing around with her Zebra tattoo. But then I listened to the voice and the words she uses, and it turns out she is a professional artist, a talented one at that. She speaks both English and Croatian, which were a little bit difficult for me at first, but then I realized that this might be an aspect of her work that people might not understand. Her style is quite similar to Croatia’s favorite painter, from what I’ve heard. She has a very distinctive style of her own, that is not in any way like the others I’ve seen.
Violeta is a very passionate person, very caring of her body, both physically and spiritually. She loves her job as an artist, but it hasn’t taken her far from her heart. She speaks from her heart and her words are true and honest. Her desire to connect to her partner shows in her artwork, as does her sensitivity to their needs. There is a message in all of her work, “Be kind, be true, be generous” and she puts this message across with her tattoos.
