Luisa Accorsi is the founder and publisher of Piazza Print, an online magazine dedicated to women. She has written several books on the subject of marriage and is a prolific speaker on the topic. In many ways, her experience in an Italian marriage (without being Italian) and her insights into that community’s dynamics are the keys to understanding her approach to teaching, as well as the reasons behind her choosing to teach “American women” something she knows firsthand. Accorsi takes a positive view of marriage, stressing that regardless of gender, each partner is entitled to the same stature in the community. She does not believe in comparing men to women, nor does she believe in comparing one’s station in life to the station in the stars. Instead, she believes that each partner has earned their station in life through their own individual actions, calling upon women to look beyond their station in life and to find meaning and purpose through their unique relationship with a man (or men).
