The fall of New York Fashion Week is a time when designers, manufacturers and consumers sit up and take notice. Every year the city gears up for its premier fashion week festival, which takes place around October. Each year the fashion buzz in New York revolves around what looks to come in what season and what is coming out at what time. Fall is when most of the runway and other big-name designers are bringing out their latest designs and many of the shows blow through city blocks and into local shopping malls, giving shoppers a look at what is new out in the fashion world and what is expected to be popular by fall.

This fall marks the 20th anniversary of Fashion Week and it has been a successful event for New York City since its inception. Fashion Week can be regarded as the one event that sets the tone for the city’s fashion calendar and it can be a celebration or a bummer. When it comes right down to it, there are just a few signs that the fashion season is over. One sign is the fact that the constant battle for the best leases and best customers has ended. Now people are going out of the city, just to have the best shopping experience that they can have.

Another sign that you might want to update your wardrobe is the look of the latest trends. Right now if you were to go into any high end department store in New York, you would find that the lines are almost endless and the crowds of people waiting in the long lines to get to the stores are driving the salespeople crazy. High-end stores and brands are also starting to use trends as a marketing tool to draw in customers. Take for instance, Burberry’s new London Fashion Week store which is located on the Upper Class Street between Knightsbridge and Covent Garden. The store features a multitude of screens displaying different brands and collections with a variety of color schemes and textures, much like many of the traditional London fashion weeks.
