Clare FM is an Irish independent radio station that broadcasts throughout County Clare and also the surrounding regions. The very first project of Clare FM was promoting bands and artists in the early eighties and has gained enormous success in its quest to be a leading station in Ireland. Now it is known as a flagship station in this country. However, it is also well known for promoting stories of those who have suffered and gone through what the Irish call “the mill”. Stories like the ones told by Kevin Kavanagh who won the million pound talent contest but lost because of the doctors. He is now suing his own producers for violating regulations when selecting him.

This story is a perfect example of how nationalities differ, in this case a person of Irish descent was found to be defrauded of his prize money due to another of Irish decent who was in fact a national of another nation. This story goes on to tell of how the contest was won by Kevin Kavanagh of Clare, who is from Mayo, but because of his Irish nationality, was allowed to enter the competition. He is now fighting to clear his name in court against the person who fraudulently won the contest in his behalf. He is also pursuing legal action against the producer of the television show which promoted the contest.

The other national that makes it to the top ten of this magazine’s list of top stations, is Paul Conroy who is from Galway. He is a journalist specialising in coverage of events in Galway and also has a passion for the sport of table tennis. He has worked hard to gain the exposure that he needs to break into this highly competitive profession and become known as one of the top players in his field. This exposure was achieved after he gained a promotion to the position of sports editor at a prestigious news magazine in Britain.
