Xenia Bous was born in Syria but raised in Kuwait. She is a Canadian by birth and currently has dual citizenship of Canada and Kuwait. At the present time, she is an actor and model that have carved out her name in Hollywood. However, before getting to that stage, Bous was a typical young girl from Kuwait who was educated in Canada and then into international business at the University of British Columbia where she pursued a degree in International Business.
Bous has been married to George Takei, a Japanese-American actor, for the past seven years. They met when Bous was 18 and Takei was only a year older. The couple enjoyed their first nine years together, but when George decided to pursue his acting career, Bous decided to quit her job in order to concentrate on her acting career more instead. During this time, she became a mother and later learned English as her second language. This enabled her to do two things that would help her later in her career and that was important to her: find a good Japanese man, and learn English to serve as a translator while she was performing in Japan.
Xenia Bous has had four major roles in her movieography thus far and is currently reprising her role as Chun Li in the upcoming Hong Kong movie The Fist. She has proven that age does not inhibit her acting abilities and in fact made quite the mark for herself in her first two roles. She is now also known for her turns as the daughter of an American serviceman in the television series Lost, and as Chun Li in the Kung Fu Panda franchise. Her role in the latter has brought her to the attention of both adult and children, as she is now recognized for her role as the animated character in the movie. If you are looking for a versatile actress with some martial arts experience, then Bous is definitely an actor worth checking out.
