In Lara Dior’s career she has had a variety of important roles in a number of films. She is most famous for playing Nona Venetian in the TV series Les Hommes e Peope, and then in L’olester a movie about a serial killer. Then there is the film Age of Consent, which saw her opposite Robert Pattinson as the notorious paedophile attorney defending a young woman who was convicted of having an affair with her teacher. But it was in Quentin Tarantino’s The Great Silence where we saw a different side of Lara Dior, this time a major part of a French resistance movement against the Nazis.

In The Great Silence, the role played by Lara Dior was that of a member of the resistance. This was an interesting move on her part because throughout the course of the movie we saw her struggle with her nationality and with her sexuality. Her sexuality was always present but perhaps was understated and therefore did not need to be depicted with the same strength as her national identity. Now it seems that in this film she was able to claim both at once, as she was the only woman of choice for the resistance team.

We can only speculate on what Lara Dior may have been planning for her future. Possibly she was thinking about a role in the theatre, perhaps in an edgy drama set in a period before World War II, or possibly a movie about her own life. Whatever the case we know that she has had an impressive career, and as we come to the end of the year it will be interesting to see where she goes next. Her acting repertoire and career are diverse but whatever is next for her, I am sure that we will be entertained.
