Natasha Moskwa is currently the world’s tallest tennis player at 6 ft. Though her height does not seem to be stopping her from becoming the first woman to compete in the U.S. Open, it seems that other elements of her life are also standing in the way of success. She is married to a Kenyan national and while she portrays herself as a committed and loyal wife to her husband, there have been some suspicions regarding her actual nationality and her true identity. Her marriage to this country’s president has also raised questions about her true nationality, even as her marriage to an African man goes unmentioned in the media.
There was some speculation as to whether or not Natasha Moskwa qualified for the U.S. Open because of her height. However, her coach, Patrick Cohn, explained that there was nothing wrong with her physical dimensions, but rather her focus on her career. According to Cohn, Moskwa has always had a “very clear focus on her game.” The German has said that tennis helps to build her character as well, helping her to realize what is important in her life. In fact, she is so dedicated to her sport that she is preparing to play in the Australian open even though her passport is still valid in Germany.
It was also recently revealed in an interview that Moskwa actually came up with the idea to play in the U.S. by herself. Though her first coach in America, Bill Poulos, discouraged the tall Nat by advising her to come up with a team, Moskwa instead decided to pursue her own dream. Now, with the help of Cohn and record sales to back her up, there is little reason why she should not become the first woman to represent the U.S. in a major tennis tournament. However, even as Moskwa is waiting for the ATP to approve her visa, she has been courting African American partners in order to improve her ranking. Though her record of success is impressive, she has yet to face an African American opponent, something that many other tennis players have already done.
