Naina Zonta is a dancer, singer, actress, model and actress from the Dominican Republic. Born in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, she has since become famous for her work in music, theater, films, cartoons and television, specifically as a voice actress for animated films. Born as Felipe Salinas, she was named after an indigenous Dominican song which means “little man”. Since her early childhood, Naina has always had deep connections to the Dominican people, particularly the Puerto Rican natives, and this connection continues to fuel her desire to be part of the cultural and ethnic mix that she is a part of. She is proud to be a citizen of her native land, and more recently, she has taken an interest in finding fame and recognition for herself and for her talent.

Noemi Zonta’s parents brought her four siblings and cousins from Spain, Brazil, Venezuela and Cuba when they were young. The only other sister that was present at the time was born in Cuba, while her parents made sure that her birth was Spanish via adoption papers, so that her two brothers could also be entitled to the nationality of their homeland. Raising a family in such circumstances was extremely difficult, and Naina used her Dominican birth certificate as a passport so that she could travel internationally. When she was thirteen years old, her parents decided that it was time that Naina begin learning how to sing professionally, so that she could pursue her goal and fulfill her potential.

Naina pursued her singing career by signing up for showcases and even went on to train with the popular female vocalist and composer Celine Dion, but it was not until she was nineteen years old that she began to receive professional assistance from managers who specialized in casting Spanish and Puerto Rican actors. It was then that Naina began to learn that her true destiny was to be an actress, and not a dancer or singer. After becoming pregnant again at the age of twenty-one, her agent recommended that she consider going back to school and receiving a formal degree in dance, as that would help open doors that had formerly been shut. It was at this moment that Naina realized that perhaps her best chance at a fulfilling career had arrived.
