Music Review – Age Of Adaline by Francisca Valenzuela

Francisca Valenzuela, known to her fans as Francisca Valerian, is a famous South American singer-songwriter and multi-Instrumentalist. She was born and raised in San Francisco, California where she lived until the age of twelve, when she moved to Chile. As a teenager, she had already created her own music, but it was her performance at Chile’s annual Radio des Amateurs festival that caught the eye of the Chile music scene. Her musical interests are centered on classical music, particularly flamenco and jazz. She is most well known for being one of the founding members of the musical group, Argentinian group, Los Negros.

Francisca Valenzuela’s most well known songs are, “Bailand”, “Age of Adaline” and “Paparazzi”. Other songs from her solo album, “Harmonia” are, “Cariba”, “I’m Happy”,” Buenos Dias” and “Te Amo”. The musical style that brought about such diverse music is called flamenco. Her instrument is the lute, but she also played banjo, guitar, piano, harmonica, recorder and ukulele.

Francisca Valenzuela has achieved success in her chosen profession, having charted eighteen #1 hits in the US and seven in Latin America. She has made thirty albums and twenty videos. Most of her work is geared towards younger audiences, but some of it is suitable for older listeners as well. In fact, her last album “Expo el Aire” received great reviews both in Spain and the US.
