I doubt that you want the Mudgear brand with the name mud, but they do stand up to being used in the mud and even though they might look silly you can count on them to last. Remember that Mudgear socks are specially made for mud runs only. The people at Mudgear make sure that their socks are dry-treated to withstand the water and mud that will be in your shoes. The type of mud that they use is based on your climate and location. I have a couple of pairs and I use them in the basement and in the wet climates in my yard.
As far as the Mudgear Socks themselves I think they are great looking and the price is good. I have found that they last long and I run miles on them. I have run trails and obstacles and they hold up fine and give you the support that you need when working your way round an obstacle. Just be sure that you pick up a pair that are a half or full size bigger than your normal socks because when you’re going really fast you don’t want to be bending down all the time to pull them on or off.
Mudgear Socks is not the cheapest brand name on the market but I have to hand it to them for coming up with a product that stands up to being used on real trails and off road racing courses. The cost of buying a pair of new Mudgear trail socks is much less than the price of buying a new pair of trail running shoes. They have taken the idea of plain black socks and turned it into a color that everyone will like and that is green! You can also get them in cargo and racing styles and I am sure that you will find a pair that suits your taste.
