Tin Can Girl [ edit ]
The tin woman in the middle was getting ready to make a little money,
And I, of all the people in the world, was the perfect person
To have the job. So they offered it to me. But I took it very seriously.
Now I spend my days and nights making some money,
But the tin woman is still getting the money.
I don’t like people who take money and leave.
I told the tin woman that she wouldn’t need another day of work
If she could find someone who liked her.
But she can’t find anyone. So I’m going to go back to the tin woman’s place.
But I’ll keep a little something for myself,
In case I ever do sell my little piece of tin.
If they find out I was in that little place.
They’ll have to kill me! They will murder me!
They have no rights to anyone’s human rights!
They cannot come near our houses or our women!
When I left this place, I made a deal with the devil.
I won’t return until they’ve killed me.
If they come near my home, they will have to kill me!
I made the promises that I’m making now.
I’m not in danger at the hands of the enemy.
If they catch me, I won’t cry. But if I leave, I won’t be able to make another promise.
I made these promises with the devil in mind.
Now if they find me, I won’t complain. But if I die, I’ll be glad to rest in peace.
