Meghan Gilbert is an actress, singer, writer and the host of the hit TLC’s reality show, The Biggest Loser. Her role as the patient inside the wheelchair in the first season of the show brought her worldwide fame and while she admitted that she was scared of getting injured on set (as any performer would be) Meghan seemed to handle the physical demands well and even ended the first season with more confidence than ever before. Meghan was a contestant on season 11 of the reality show Ripped: The Search, where she competed with a young woman from Canada in an attempt to get her weight down to a more manageable size. Meghan finished the season out of the competition but is now ready to take on bigger roles after enjoying some time in the limelight as an actress, singer and model.

Meghan has British citizenship and grew up in the town of Dunmow in her native Ireland. Meghan has a twin brother, Dean, who is of Irish descent; their family also consists of a father, Martin, and an older half-brother, Finbarr. Meghan’s official father’s name is Joseph Plunkett and her mother’s name is Karen Gilbert. She is half Jamaican, half-French, which is fitting given her roots in the Caribbean. Meghan’s ethnicity is not overly apparent given her use of the English language in both her personal and work life, although her nationality has been discussed in a few memoirs, including one by her son, Dean. Meghan does not speak fluent French but considers it her second language.

Meghan’s official nationality is British, however, her father, a solicitor, would most likely classify her as Irish. Meghan is tall and has brown eyes – blue, green and hazel are her natural color. Her complexion is pale to a light tan, and she has gray hair, brown eyes and freckles all over her face. It is said that Meghan Gilbert might have had a cyst on her ovary when she was a teenager, which would explain her short height.
