Meet Guest Teacher Rowen Aida: Partner at Rocycle, former master teacher at Soul Seekers and an accomplished spinning artist in Amsterdam. The business of teaching rowing is growing internationally with the expansion of professional rowers in various countries, and with many new schools adding rowing to their curriculums, it has never been easier or more accessible to teach sport as a profession. This is another way that globalization is affecting people’s lives in more ways than we thought possible.
He is also an experienced coach and trainer. He has coached and trained many European and international competitors including Kipchoge Keino, Ann Tran, Beth Bozic, Raylen Bowers, as well as many others. He has coached the U.S. National Team and has been involved with rowing for over 30 years. The experience he has gained is definitely useful when considering where his coaching will take his students.
He has won the World Water Polo Championship twice. His credentials are quite impressive and you can be sure that he knows what he is doing. At the International Masters Rowing Championships held in Italy, he finished second behind eventual winner Peter Atkins. In the qualifying tournament for the Olympics, he finished ninth out of ten races. With this sort of success, it would be foolish to doubt his abilities.
