Marianna Porta is perhaps best known for her roles in films, TV shows and her numerous books. She has played a variety of different characters since her early twenties. As an actress, she has appeared in films such as The Deerhunter (with Robert Duvall), Here Come the Flowers (with John Aston and Karen Allen), Dune (with Frank Sinatra), Come As You Are (with Bette Midler), Grease (with Gene Wilder), A Christmas Story (with Billy Crystal), Leave It Be, Pretty Woman (withreaart Albers), Hotel California, Come Here Marry, American Pie, etc. Her other television appearances include Everybody Loves Raymond, The Perfect Score, Roseanne, Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond, Housefull, Everybody Loves My Dad, Mary Tyler Moore, ER, Frasier, Friends, House, among others. She also appeared in the musical Who’s In Love Again, Take Me Out To The Ballgame and finally in the film Pleasantville.

Marianna Porta’s height is not that much of an issue for many people, in fact many are surprised to find out that she is actually a few inches shorter than she looks in the pictures or movies. Age and appearance do not negatively affect Porta. Age does add a few years to her appearance though, so it is possible that she could be as old as she claims to be, or even older. Porta is described by her personal physician as ‘fairly normal’ in terms of age and height, which is not surprising considering her many years of professional service. Porta has always maintained that her height is neither a reason nor an advantage for herself but more of an unfortunate byproduct of being a certain kind of person.

The personal details provided by Porta about her background make her seem like a typical American. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was listed on birth certificates from both her native homeland and her former country of Italy. However, it is more likely that her birth certificate is American while her Italian birth record is now lost. It is also true that all the marriages that she has been involved in have been to Italian citizens, thus ending up with an extensive network of family members spread across the four continents. This helps explain why many of her friends have Italian origins, since most of her known friends are of Italian decent.
