She has also been the recipient of many awards including the Grand Master award from the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Her screenplays have been screened by numerous viewers worldwide. This article discusses her early professional and educational experience, the reasons for her marriage to her husband, and the unique role she plays in both of their lives.

Marianna Kalergi was born in 1963 in what was then East Germany. Her father, an engineer, worked in a research firm where he met her mother, an artist. Together they created a series of children’s films and produced several successful movies including “My Wife Let’s Go skiing” and “Bicycle Coalition”. From an early age, Kalergi was fascinated with the visual appeal of acting, and from her experience as a child of five who was often scolded for speaking out of turn, she decided that being an actor would be a great avenue for her personal development.

As a young woman, Kalergi hid her Polish identity for several years in order to pursue an acting career. Her partner was equally intrigued with the idea of an actress who was also a performer, and the two eventually married in a civil ceremony in Zaire (Zambia). Her first marriage ended in divorce, and in her next two marriages, she served as both a director and producer, garnering a number of awards for her work. Her international travels led her to Los Angeles, where she became known as one of the founding members of the conceptual art collective known as the Velvet Underground.
