Marianna Coppo grew up in Rome and attended college in Florence. After completing a degree in English Literature at University of Cambridge she pursued a career in advertising and public relations in New York City. However, her true love was in art, and she pursued her painterly and illustrative career for many years, producing beautiful renderings for magazines and paintings. In 2021 she was finally able to return to Italy and take up her new national identity as a Marianna Coppo. And in that time she became known not only for her many fine art works but also as a leading figure in the fight against identity theft.
DescriptionMarianna Cooğan is an internationally-acclaimed writer-illustration who studied editorial art at MiMaster in Milan, Italy where she earned a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing and then a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Letters at University of Florence. Her first novel in the United States, Petra was published to rave reviews. Now she resides in Rome. Her most recent book, a poem called Mother in Heaven, was released in March 2021.
Education, nationality, and art all form the background of Marianna Coppo’s work. She is proud to call herself a true artist and says, “art is my best friend”. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Letters and currently teaches writing at a high school in Florence, Italy. She is devoted to helping young people discover their identity and cultural belonging through public speaking. She believes that knowledge is power and that all people, regardless of age, should have access to quality information on every topic imaginable from culture to health to religion. Marianna Coppo lives with her mother in Florence and also has several cats.
