Maria Malo is a name that has become synonymous with scandal and controversy. Born in Brazil, she was raised in what is now the State amnesia, a place known for its passion and luxury. A rising star in the National Theatre, Maria grew to appreciate the theatre as an adult and moved to Paris where she acted in some of her most famous roles. However, when she moved back to Brazil and married Joao Gil, they made the decision to annul their wedding and seek fulfillment in a civil union. The marriage failed and Maria was not satisfied with the lack of respect that the public gave her and so she resolved to find a new partner in life which would suit her passion for acting.
In looking for a partner, she met and fell in love with Joao Gil who served as Foreign Minister for the conservative government of Ribeirao Caboclo. Although Joao was not expected to be accepting of Maria’s elevation to the Foreign Office, she respected her as a woman and rose to her challenge. Maria began to work as a receptionist and began to model and act in plays which showcased her height and talent. When Caboclo discovered this, he decided to promote Maria to the position of ambassador for her services.
Although Maria was expected to carry the title of ambassador, she refused the post and requested a leave of absence to travel and pursue her acting career. Her request was granted and she returned to Brazil. During this time, she managed to maintain her career by appearing in a string of successful plays. When she returned to Brazil, she managed to acquire another role on the Brazilian soap opera ‘Beirut’ which was filmed in Brasov, Russia and was highly successful. Later on, she appeared in the movies ‘Desperate Housewives’ and ‘Dancing with The Stars’, both of which went on to become massive successes and featured many different talents that would help define the careers of Maria and her husband Joao Gil in the future.
